ASHER EATS / PLANET BOX

ASHER EATS / PRODUCT FAVORITES

Asher headed back to school this week after a nice long winter break and it was much tougher on him than I anticipated it to be. He attends a morning/early afternoon program here, that’s a few days a week, and usually really enjoys it! With that being said, I always make sure to have a delicious lunch packed for him, when I pick him up, because he is usually STARVING. All of that learning, coloring, singing and hanging with his pals works up quite the appetite. img_0628My go to lunchbox, as of late, has been this super handy, functional and eco-friendly box that my wonderful friends at PlanetBox sent to Asher to test out. Not only is it totally kid approved, but mama approved as well! This box has been a lifesaver for packing his lunches and here’s why –

FUNCTIONAL – The best thing about this PlanetBox, other than the fact that it’s environmentally friendly, is that it is incredibly functional. The compartments are wonderful and easily separate everything out so it doesn’t touch, because if your preschooler is like mine, NO FOOD MUST TOUCH.. EVER. And you don’t ever have to buy a box of sandwich bags ever again! This lunchbox is like an all-in-one! Amazing!

Aside from the handy individual compartments, the lunchbox is also very compact, which is great for packing to school. No bulky oversized box here.. even the icepack is compact and takes up very, very minimal space! This lunchbox is engineered in the most perfect, functional way and that’s hands down my favorite thing about it!

The last functional thing I love about this lunchbox is that it sits flat. So when I pick Asher up for school and he eats in the car, I don’t have to worry about opening bags or handing things back to him. I simply pop this lunchbox open, sit it on his lap and he munches away. When he’s done, he closes the lid, slide the snap shut, which is small hands friendly, and sets it beside him. Eating in the car has never been easier.

STYLE – Aside from it’s killer functionality, I adore the style of this lunchbox. It’s minimal, saves a ton of room in the refrigerator and has the cutest interchangeable magnets that Asher loves. I’m sure most of you know that he’s currently space obsessed so the Nebula magnets are of course his number one choice! He even has a matching case to slide the lunchbox into!

OPTIONS – The PlanetBox comes in three truly wonderful sizes. I went with the “Rover” because it has just the right amount of compartments and is size friendly for a preschooler. The Rover includes the lunchbox, 2 extra containers, a set of magnets, an icepack and a bag/cover to carry everything in. It’s a total bang for the buck! View the Rover PlanetBox HERE.

ECO-FRIENDLY – I’m all for raising a child who’s conscious of the environment around him and that start’s by myself educating him on ways he can protect this magnificent little earth we reside on and also exposing him to products with a purpose. This lunchbox is so incredibly environmentally friendly. From being crafted from stainless steel (a recyclable product), to using minimal space and being REUSABLE, this box does our planet good. It reduces the amount of plastic you will use, which isn’t only planet friendly, but budget friendly as well. Think of all the extra $ you will have by not having to buy plastic containers or bags. And I feel great by providing Asher with a lunchbox that’s environmentally educational.

DISHWASHER SAFE – The PlanetBox fits perfectly into my dishwasher and washes clean! It also leaves no residue or smells. I hate plastic for that very reason and love that this lunchbox washes so well.

OVERALL – Hands down, I’m in awe over this lunchbox. I never thought I could develop a serious love for a lunchbox, but this one is life changing. For a busy mama, like myself, this product simplifies things for me and allows me to construct a healthy and well balanced lunch for my picky preschooler that’s nutritious and appealing. When little Max starts solids I will totally be investing in the smaller version of the lunchboximg_0634img_0640img_0636img_0647img_0654img_0655img_0644img_0631

BABY FAVORITES – THE SECOND TIME AROUND

November 18, 2016

GROWING A BABY / PRODUCT FAVORITES

I am seven short weeks away from my due date and the reality is finally soaking in. (AHH!) Between building a house and taking care of a busy four year old, I’ve kept pretty busy this go around. I still have much to do – set up a nursery, find the perfect carseat, amongst other baby gear, wash clothes and get my hospital registration done, so these next few weeks are going to be busy ones! I’m hoping my energy levels increase and that “nesting phase” kicks into high gear!

With that being said, the baby product market has significantly changed in the past four years and my goodness is it amazing. There are seriously so many incredible and unique products on the market right now that do it all. As excited as I am to be breaking some of my old favorites back out, here are some new products that I am drooling over. Like that SNOO Smart Sleeper! Here are some of my most favorite new baby products that are on the market! add-a-litext

  1. SNOO Smart Sleeper – How beautiful is this thing?! Not only is it super stylish, but it’s also incredible functional. Having a reflux baby the first time around and one who didn’t have the best sleep patterns, I’m definitely looking at all my options this time. It was a very sleep deprived first year and a half for Jacob and I and as we all know, sleep is such a necessity for both baby and parents.
  2. Natursutten Pacifiers – My trusty pals over at Cotton Babies led me on to these things and I’ve already ordered a few for number 2. Seem easy to wash and perfect for baby.
  3. Baby Monitor – I’m open to suggestions if any of you have monitors that you love! I used one that connected to my phone the last time and just didn’t care all that much for it.
  4. Wild Creek Co. Teethers + Pacifier Clips – These are the sweetest little teether and pacifier clips ever! They are safe, natural and so much better than the basic rubber teether. Asher had a Sophie the giraffe that he dearly loved, but my goodness was she hard to keep clean!
  5. Ubbi Diaper Pail – I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Hands down the best diaper pail ever. Nothing will ever even come close to comparing to this thing and I can’t wait to use it again!!
  6. Odessa + Sons Indigo Swaddles – I adore this little small shop! They make the most beautiful hand dyed swaddles and I’ve totally got one on my wish list for this next babe!
  7. Freshly Picked Moccs – Best shoes ever! And there are so many new colors! I can’t wait to see a sweet babe in them again!
  8. Solly Baby Wrap + Swaddles – These are a must for me this go around. My sister invested in a wrap that she loves and now I’ve got to have one (or two ;)) and some swaddles! Seriously amazing!
  9. Tubby Todd Baby Fresh Spray – I haven’t tried this stuff just yet, but my goodness what a wonderful invention. I had to be careful with daily baths with Asher and this stuff is like full body refreshening spray for babies.. umm yes! And think of all the things you can spritz this stuff with… diaper bag, blankets, carseat, etc.!
  10. Nuna Leaf – I’m definitely in the market for something a little more compact/all-in-one this time around and this Leaf from Nuna totally fits that bill. It’s a baby seat that also swings and doesn’t just last the first 6 months. It’s weighted for up to 130lbs, which is amazing! I love longterm baby products because they are the best bang for your buck!
  11. BumGenius Cloth Diapers – I started with crummy, cheap cloth diapers with Asher and quickly realized they weren’t going to cut it, so this time around I’m investing in the holy grail of cloth diapers.. BumGenius! Durable, safe, and easy to use!
  12. Nook Crib Mattress – I saw these on Instagram a few weeks ago and after doing a little investigating, I was sold. This is an amazing little crib mattress that not only promotes healthy sleep, but is also organic and BREATHABLE. I think we could all sleep a little better at night knowing our babies are sleeping safe and sound on a breathable mattress!
  13. Pearhead Baby Milestone Chart – Pearhead, oh how I love every product they offer! You may have seen my posting on my pregnancy chalkboard and I can’t wait to break out this all about baby chalkboard when he gets here! It’s seriously so handy and such a great way to document his milestones. I can’t wait!

Anything I’m missing? I’d love to hear about your favorite and must have baby products! xo-

DOCUMENTING BABY #2 – PEARHEAD

September 9, 2016

LIFE / PRODUCT FAVORITES

so if you don’t already know by now, we are expecting baby number two early January and this go around I promised myself that I would be better about documenting it. I didn’t actually document much with my first pregnancy and I can’t even tell you how many times, these past few months, I’ve tried to think back on how I felt, the weight I gained and even what I looked like pregnant. I didn’t take a ton of photos and this time around I’m trying to be better about documenting these precious nine months!

To help me document this pregnancy and even keep me organized, I’ve been using this super perfect and quite handy little journal from Pearhead. This journal allows you to document it all, trimesters, pre baby, post baby and even things I hadn’t even thought about writing down, which I love! Someday I’ll look back at this little journal about probably get a few laughs out of some of the stuff that I’ve wrote down… Like the massive cravings I’ve been having or the fact that I managed to put on 7 pounds in the past month! 😉

To keep all of my ultrasound photos organized, (I’ve had three so far), the journal has these awesome little folder pockets for each trimester to store them in, along with anything else you would want to tuck in there. I had a box that I kept all of my stuff with Asher in and I so wish I would have had something like this four years ago! It’s handy, keeps my photos organized, and protects them from getting wrinkled! I love that I’m not always digging to find them and I can just pull my journal out for a quick look or to write down some of my thoughts! img_0070img_0068img_0076img_0073img_0066i’m excited to document the rest of this second pregnancy of mine. I’m already six months along and my goodness is time flying! Someday when this little guy is grown, I thought I may even pass this little journal down to him for a keepsake… Until then, I’ll tuck it away on my shelf and pull it out when I want to reminisce about this little short, but oh so precious time in my life. I’m grateful to be documenting this second pregnancy!

You can pickup one of these great little journals HERE and be sure to check out all of Pearhead’s other amazing keepsakes HERE!

Stay tuned! I’ll be sharing more fun keepsakes!

a special thanks to Pearhead for collaborating with me on this post!

KEEN KIDS – UNEEK 02

July 21, 2016

LITTLES / PRODUCT FAVORITES

We’ve been u-pick farming it up here in the mid south and with summer break coming to an end, we hit one last u-pick farm this past week to harvest the last of the summers blueberries and peaches! Asher’s loves all of the summer adventures that the season brings, especially picking his favorites fruits and veggies, and I can’t wait to take him back this fall to go apple, pear and pumpkin picking! I think it’s safe to say that I’ve got a freezer full of fresh fruit to last us the rest of the year!

Living back in the South this summer has been so different than being up North. I’m not going to lie, I sure do miss those mild, humidless, North Dakota summer days. Memphis is HOT. And trying to stay cool on these crazy warm summer days has been challenging, especially when you have a little one who refuses to wear sleeveless tops and requests to wear tennis shoes 24/7. Luckily one of my favorite brands, KEEN, makes a fantastic kids shoe line that is perfect for active kiddos. This summer we tried out their new UNEEK line and I must say, we are huge fans! These shoes have been a favorite of Asher’s and I love how functional, cool and stylish they are!

IMG_9785I’m quite persnickety when it comes to Asher’s shoes. With him being a rough and tough little boy who loves to jump in puddles, climb rocks, ride his cars and attempt to swing from tree branches, I always put him in things that are durable and will last. KEEN’s UNEEK shoe is just that and some. They are durable and comfortable with just the right amount of protection for his little feet. The elastic strap makes it easy for him to slip on and adjust. If a tennis shoe and a sandal had a baby, the UNEEK would definitely be it! My favorite thing about these shoes are that they keep his feet cool on these hot summer days! No more stinky tennis shoes! I love the versatility that these shoes provide and how easy they are to clean! A little dish soap and the garden hose and they are like new again! IMG_9777IMG_9781IMG_9783IMG_9782IMG_9784IMG_9786IMG_9788

Be sure to check out KEEN‘s new UNEEK line for kids HERE! They come in five different colors that are oh so stylish! Parents, you will love these! :)

A huge thank you to KEEN for letting us try out their new UNEEK line!
